I have joined a few fellow photographers in taking this challenge to take at least one picture a day. Being able to capture the beauty and events around me allow be realize how blessed I truly am.

A Ride through Lake Guntersville Park - Day 27
We got out of training early today, Whoo Hoo! I had a home visit to make later that evening so I thought that I would take the long scenic route and lo and behold, I got some awesome shots. In case, you haven't figured it out yet, I am a nature freak and here is proof of how much I love nature, the great outdoors, God's green earth, etc. Here are several shots that I took along the way.
I know it's blurry. It was almost dark and of course, no tripod (gotta get one to keep in the car) but liked the effect. |

Got a bird theme going on - Day 26
Training started late today because of the predicted snow. Well, we didn't get any, surprise, surprise! After being so tired the night before it was nice to get a late start. So, on my way to training today I noticed more birds, it remined me of the Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds". I mean they were everywhere. As I was driving, I noticed a dock that was covered with birds and I turned around to try and get a picture of them. By the time I got there, they had flown off the dock but they were still flying around. Here are a few pics.
You see the line of white in the water? Those are seagulls too. Birds, birds, birds everywhere! |
Had to get a pic of the clouds :) |
Day 25 - Nada!
I am in training all this week and will have to go back in two weeks for one more week. I got out late and didn't get a chance to take any pictures today. I was so tired when I got home, that I crashed. Oh well, I missed one day so far. Not bad, if I do say so myself :)
Look at all the birds - Day 24
On my way home from training the other day, I noticed all of these seagulls everywhere! I mean everywhere you looked where there was water, there were birds flying, diving, swimming etc. Either there was a sudden surge of fish available or something was in the air. With all the stories about birds dying everywhere, I thought this fit right in even though these birds were not dying. The ducks kept diving too and many of them had fish in their mouth so that is why I thought that there must be a slew of fish everywhere.

Don't blink - Day 23
In my house, if you are slow, you may miss out. These came out of the oven less than an hour before this pic was taken and one whole loaf is gone. In a house with two young men, you have to be quick if you want to eat something. I mean if I want something, I actually have to hide it. My mother used to hide food and stuff from us and I thought that she was begin greedy. I have since learned that if you really want something, you better get it while you can, cause if you blink an eye, it might not be there and then you start thinking that your hallucinating. Have there been times when your at work or at church or out somewhere and your mouth starts watering over something that you have at home and you can't wait to get home and eat some, only to find out that the two legged rats in your home beat you to it and don't feel the least bit guilty that they didn't leave you any. Well that is how it is at my house, you got to race to get what you want otherwise it becomes a figment of your imaginaton.

My Hobbies - Day 22
I spent the day making soap today, so I decided to take a picture of some of my creations. I love reading although I don't find as much time to read like I want to. I used to read a book a day or every three days. No where near that now. So in the picture is books about two of my hobbies, soap making and phtography along with a sample from both. For some reason when it comes to taking pictures of inanimate objects, I just can't get them to come out like I want them or how I picture them in my head. Anyway, practice makes perfect, right? My son liked the first set-up, I preferred the second.
Ride Around Town - Day 21
My job requires that I travel around the county a lot to make home visits. The road to one home that I visit has trees that line both sides of the road and I love going through there. It is so peaceful and calm. This day when I was driving a noticed a tree with an odd deformity but couldn't stop to take a picture of it. On the way back, I couldn't find it so now I wonder if I was seeing things. The next time I go back there I am going to make sure that I stop even if I have to turn around and take a picture of it. I love nature and the beauty that it exhibits from one day to the next. Later that day I was on my way to my son's sports banquet and the sunset was just beautiful. I took several pictures but the came out somewhat blurry but still pretty. On the way back the moon was full and I tried to capture that as well but when you don't have a tripod at night it is hard to get a good picutre. The picture I am posting is blurry but I love the effect. You can still make out the trees that were in the forefront and you know; or at least I think you know that it is the moon in the background.

You know you need to close your drawers......Day 20
.....When you look and notice a furry thing crawling in your top drawer that is open and then disappears. Pull the drawer out and what do we find?????
Ha, ha, bet you thought that it was a mouse or something. Nope, Muffin our kitty cat. She hates to go outside and will hide anywhere she can. Little did I know that she would jump in my top drawer and go down to the second one to hide. I will now keep my drawers closed!

Pics from Around Town - Day 19
Today, I decided to take a few pictures from around town where I work at. It was a cold dreary day but I was still able to find beauty around. I love gazebos and there is one at the city park so I took a picture of that. We have lots of water around here (even if the levels are low) and I love water of any kind. One day I am going to be able to capture the sunset over the water. I am usually driving back to work or on my way to a home visit and cannot stop and take one. I am really enjoying this challenge, sometimes it's hard to come up with what to take for the day but I will continue to challenge myself and find beauty in my everyday life.
